Taste of the Trolley
The McKinney Avenue Transit Authority (MATA) will be holding its annual fundraising event, Taste of the Trolley, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 6 to 10 PM, at the Fashion Industry Gallery (FIG) in Downtown Dallas. The event features delicious food from the best restaurants along the trolley line, a silent auction, live auction, live music, and cocktails.
This year’s restaurants include Ascension, The Capital Grille, Cru/Princi Italia, Fen Shui Asian Cuisine, Haywire, Las Palmas, Malai Kitchen, Metropolitan on Main, Mexican Sugar, San Martin, Sixty Vines, S & D Oyster Company, The Rustic, Truluck’s and Y.O. Ranch. Each restaurant will provide a taste of one or more of their signature dishes, complimented by cocktails from an open bar.
Led by Dean McCurry Auction Services, the entertainment continues with a live auction filled with dream vacations to Europe, the US, the Caribbean and more. Throughout the evening and online, silent auction items will also be up for bidding. Offerings include a variety of items including sports memorabilia, staycations, wine collections, spa packages, art, and much more. The McKinney Avenue Transit Authority (MATA) was founded in 1983, to return heritage streetcars to the streets of Dallas. The trolley provides safe, dependable, environmentally friendly, and convenient transportation through Dallas’ vibrant Uptown, Downtown and the Arts Districts. MATA’s mission is to maintain the unique, historic ambience and character of vintage trolley service for residents, businesses, and visitors. The trolley is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) and relies on the generosity of its riders, sponsors, and donors to continue the mission of providing free public transit 365 days a year.
