Salsa Limon is another family-owned hot spot in Dallas. If you are one for great breakfast tacos, try their butter flour tortilla with your choice of filling topped with flavorful scrambled eggs. They are known for being a classic Mexican street food. Everything is homemade and slow-made, served on double-layer gluten-free corn tortillas. If you are a flour tortilla lover, you can switch it for a small upgrade fee of .50 cents. If salsa is your thing, they are good at making great flavors. Try any of their homemade salsas from the mildest tomatillo to their hottest (haberno) they say to proceed with caution.
If you are on a budget, try their best deal menu with options from under $10. You definitely can’t go wrong at this establishment.

This taco spot has been a resident of Lake Highlands for over ten years. Hence, this makes them worthy of the name Resident Taqueria. They are best known for being a great community and family-friendly place to grab some of the best tacos in the city. You can’t visit this establishment without trying the pecan slow-smoked chicken with picked scallion, peanut, and mole sauce or the glazed pork belly with cucumber, slaw, and agave.
Do you have a devout vegan in your crew? There is no need to fear since Resident Taqueria offers a delicious slow-cooked mushroom and poblano taco topped with almond salsa and a caramelized cauliflower taco with oven-roasted kale, pepita seeds, and topped with epazote aioli. And here’s a little secret: don't miss out on their Mexican fried rice and garlicky pinto beans.

This family-owned West Coast establishment, founded in 2013, made its way to McKinney Ave in Uptown Dallas in January 2024. The new spot offers a variety of traditional street tacos, and if that’s not enough, you can grab Baja-style battered fish tacos topped with cilantro, onions, and chipotle sauce. For all of you shrimp lovers, their Cameron taco filled with grilled spicy shrimp, cheese, avocado, cabbage, tomato & chipotle sauce is a huge hit among the residents.
If you have a flare for poutine, try their versions Carne Asada Fries made with Angus steak or their Mar y Tierra Fries made with grilled shrimp. Don’tforget to stop by their salsa bar and grab a few of their tasty salsas to top of these mouthwatering tacos.
If you find yourself in need of a midnight snack they are open on Friday and Saturday until 2 am.
Milagro Tacos Cantina

The owner of this fabulous taco spot was featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in 2018 when it was known as Tacos Mariachi. Although it closed during the pandemic, it made a comeback in July 2021 with a new name: Milagro Tacos Cantina. The menu still offers the authentic Tijuana street flavors that made it famous.
We would be remiss if we didn’t tell you to try their signature smoked salmon taco or the pulp (octopus) topped with asadero cheese, fresh avocados, & micro greens. A new addition to the menu is Gobernador, a flour tortilla, filled with sauteed shrimp, chile de arbol sauce, asadero cheese, pico de gallo & creme fresca. Don’t forget to add a side of mole fries to complete your meal.
Taqueria La Ventana

This beloved Dallas taco spot has three convenient locations in the City: one inside the Farmer’s Market another just steps away from the Perot Museum near Woodall Rodgers and a third off Cedar Springs. With its vibrant and colorful ambiance, this taqueria offers an authentic Mexico City experience.
You won't want to miss their handmade, flavorful Mexican street tacos, served on fresh tortillas made in-house daily. If you are feeling adventurous, try the lengua (beef tongue) tacos—they're sure to be savory and tasty.
To complement your tacos, they offer a variety of sides and dips, including chips and salsa, homemade guacamole, and queso and chips. Don’t forget to try their elote (corn in a cup), hailed as one of the best in Dallas.

In April 2024, another restaurant serving authentic Mexico City street food found a home at the corner of Walnut Hill and Marsh Lane. Owned by a native of Mexico City, this spot offers a delightful taste of traditional flavors.
The trompo (marinated pork) is a hit as well as their fried Gulf snapper. For a truly satisfying meal, go for the Puerto el Metro (roasted whole pig) for a truly satisfying meal. If you are feeling adventurous try their verdurous a la parrilla, a taco filled with grilled vegetables and paired with marinated nopales (cactus).
If dessert is your thing there are a few must-try items, such as the house- made flan crafted by the owner and the buñuelos (fried dough fritters with cinnamon sugar).

Another family-owned gem, hailed as one of the top places for delicious traditional tacos not only in Dallas but across the country, made it to Good Morning America’s Best Taco Tuesday segment in Dallas—and won!
With two locations in Dallas, this spot dishes out traditional street tacos where the proteins are slow-cooked overnight. These mouthwatering tacos are served on corn or flour tortillas dipped in oil, grilled to perfection, and topped with cilantro, onions, your choice of salsa, and a squeeze of lime.
While you’re there strike up a conversation with the owner, you will leave feeling inspired.
Revolver Taco Lounge

Revolver Taco Lounge made its way to the Netflix series Taco Chronicles: Cross the Border in November 2023. The owner is a master of all things carnitas. This authentic taqueria establishment is dedicated to serving authentic street tacos the right way. The recipes for the handmade corn tortillas, seasonings, and salsas have been passed down for generations.
If you stop by during Happy Hour from 3-6 pm all their tacos are 50% off. While all their flavors are worth trying, to truly appreciate the owner’s skill, you must sample the octopus carnitas, made with sliced premium Mediterranean octopus prepared in the traditional Michoacán carnitas style, and topped with fried leek and jalapeño salsa. Another must-try is the trucha taco, featuring premium fresh farm-raised ruby red trout filet grilled with olive oil, light tinga sauce, lettuce, pickled red onion, and jalapeño salsa.Whether you visit either location in Deep Ellum, the Lounge on Main Street, or the to-go spot on Elm, you won’t be disappointed.
