Remembering Black Dallas Black Uplift in the Freedman's Era Bus Tour - Uptown
Bus leaves at 10 a.m. and returns by 2 p.m.
Our Historic African American Bus and Walking Tours offer opportunities to witness significant sites from the 19th and 20th centuries. The goal of our tours is to empower participants to learn more about Dallas’s African American heritage.
This 4-hour tour will explore Freedman’s Cemetery, Booker T. Washington High School, Moorland Branch YMCA, and sites of Black-owned businesses in the State-Thomas neighborhood, plus additional sites.
The tour will begin at RBDallas's office at 1408 N. Washington Ave., Dallas, Texas 75204. The bus will depart at 10:00 am sharp, so please arrive early to leave time for checking in and finding a seat.
